Question:

What is a six alarm fire?

I was watching the news and they spoke about it but didn't get into much detail i was wondering what it is, thanks

Answer:

Studded tend to wear out when you drive on the pavement so they don't do you a whole lot of good when you need them. I recommend buying a high quality snow tire, I think you will be happier with it in the long run.
I would think knowledge would put someone in a position to gain more resources, avoid more bad consequences, and possibly manipulate people (but this isn't recommended).
I live in Colorado and I understand. Foothills is rough driving. If you have access, Tireworld in the Pikes Peak area is some of the best tire people around. Otherwise Big O can be pretty good. Your tires may just be old and the wrong style tires. You should have AT LEAST new All weather or possibly snow tires. No doubt studded tires are the best, and if you have anti-lock brakes, then you always have to have 4 matching tires for your anti-locks to work correctly. There is a fairly new tire out from a few manufacturers that has a special rubber and tread pattern that are the best in the snow and almost as good as Studded, about half way between studded and non studded without the studded problems Bridgestone Blizzak, and other tires like it. Blizzak is the highest rated non studded snow tire around. But its EXPENSIVE and wears FAST on dry roads. You may not need/want something this aggressive, just a good set of new snow tires might do the trick. And so some practice driving in an abandoned snow covered church parking lot.
Regular Some states have a law that it is illegal to have studded tires on after March and Before November The studless work just as well without the hassle.
Stop driving like a maniac and you'll be fine. Front wheel drive cars like that do pretty well in snow. You have to tap the breaks and not over accelerate.
