Question:

what is ethernet connector?

i have missing device in my device manager and thats is ethernet connector what is that? am i really need this? what is the uses of that connector?

Answer:

an ethernet connector is also know as a NIC Network Interface card, which is used to connect to routers, cable modems and a few other devices, if its missing from the device manager then either the NIC is disabled, hardware failure or windows problem i would advise seeking local pc help.
Your ethernet connector is where the LAN (network) cable plugs in. If the computer works like you want it to without the ethernet connector then you dont really need to worry about installing it.
Ethernet, pronounced E-thernet (with a long e), is the standard way to connect computers on a network over a wired connection. It provides a simple interface and for connecting multiple devices, such computers, routers, and switches. With a single router and a few Ethernet cables, you can create a LAN, which allows all connected devices to communicate with each other. A standard Ethernet cable is slightly thicker than a phone cable and has an RJ45 connector on each end. Ethernet ports look similar to telephone jacks, but are slightly wider. You can plug or unplug devices on an Ethernet network while they are powered on without harming them.
The ethernet connector is a port usually located on the rear of your tower next to the other plug conncetions. It looks like a port for a telephone wire, but bigger. I would be used to either connect your PC to a network, or a high speed modem (DSL etc.) If you connect to the internet with a dial up modem, no worry as you are not using the ethernet. IF you are trying to hook up to a DSL or other highspeed internet and it is saying it is not found you need to do something. So if you are not using it, and dont plan to, you can disable it. Go to start, Control panel, system, click on the tab for Hardware then the tab for device manager Probably next to what is not working there is a yellow question markclick on the little + sign to open the device, right click on the device and choose to disable it, close all windows and restart your system. Likewise if you want to use it, it might be disabled already, go through the same steps, but enable the device. Or you might need the driver for the device. Good luck
The Ethernet connector (NIC) is your network interface card. If you intend to use your PC to connect to any network devices and access the Internet you must get the Ethernet connector installed properly. My guess is that you presently do not have the correct drivers for the NIC which is why device manager is having a problem with it. If you have a disk that came with the NIC, that disk will have the drivers on it. If the NIC is integrated on the motherboard the drivers will be on the CD that came with the motherboard. If you do not have the disk you can usually get drivers from the manufacturers website. You may have a problem doing that however, since your NIC isn't functioning you have no way to get to the Internet unless you have another computer that you can use. Good Luck, Captain Computer
