Generally, there are many types, among which monoclinic crystal is common, followed by three party crystal system, and the others are rare. The most common mineral types in mica group minerals are biotite, muscovite, mica, lithium mica and so on. Mica is usually a pseudo - six - or rhombic plate-like, flaky, columnar crystalline form. The color varies with the change of chemical composition, mainly with the increase of Fe content. Muscovite is colorless transparent or light colored; black mica is black to dark brown, dark green color; phlogopite yellow, brown, green or colorless; pale purple, lepidolite rose red to grey. Glassy luster with a pearly luster on the cleavage surface. Mohs hardness generally 2 ~ 3.5, the proportion of 2.7 to 3.5. The cleavage of the parallel base is extremely complete.
Mica is a general term for layered silicates of potassium, aluminum, magnesium, iron, lithium and so on.
Uses: Muscovite and mica have good electrical insulation and non thermal conductivity, acid resistance, alkali resistance and pressure resistance, so they are widely used in the manufacture of electronic and electrical insulation materials. Mica fragments and powders used as fillers. Lithium mica is also the main mineral raw material for extracting lithium.
