What is the best way to keep your pets from eating plants?

We have two catsThey are always getting into things, and while I love them, they are starting to make me madThey love plants the most, and often eat themDoes anyone know a good way to keep them out of the plants? We have tried Cayenne Pepper and those stick lint rollers that will stick to thir fur if they touch itThanks a lot. Also, is there a way to keep them away from fish? They've knocked over our fish bowl, but they did surviveThat one's just a longshot.

Answer:

Stay with the Compaq
While I like Macs, I don't think they're worth the inflated priceI've been a network administrator for 12 yearsI've worked on Windows, Mac, more Linux distros than I can name, OpenBSD, FreeBSD, Minuet, ReactOS, BeOS, and moreAs far as I have ever been able to tell, the only differences between Mac and Ubuntu Linux are these: 1Mac has the Dock2If you really want to PAY for commercial software, you can on a Mac, but on Ubuntu, you're limited to only free softwareI used all free software on my first OSX computer and then wondered why I had payed for a Mac when it wasn't doing anything that Ubuntu wouldn't do just as well or betterBy better I mean that I had to use that weird AppFresh thingy to keep my Mac software up to date (and it didn't always work); however, Ubuntu keeps EVERYTHING up to date automaticallyTherefore my conclusion is this: If you're happy with all free software, then don't pay the Mac Tax; go with UbuntuFor example, you can get an Alienware laptop for $1,400 that blows away the $2,500 Macbook ProYou'll get all the security features of a Mac with Ubuntu as wellIf you want to use commercial software, then go with Windows since it supports more commercial software than Mac anyway.
someone told me mothballs would keep a cat away from plants.another person said to ball up aluminum foil and put it in the dirtI didn't try either one of these but my cats eventually just stopped eating plantsMy dog on the other hand, I would like to strangle herI can't plant anything in my back yard for her digging it up and tearing it to shredsGrrrrOh and by the way, my cats love to drink out of my fish bowlThere doesn't seem to be a whole lot I can do about that.they are fascinated with the fish.
