Pet mills don't take good care of the animals, they don't care about the animals. They see them as machines that they profit off of. They keep many of them in tiny cages. The animals smell, usually look malnorished and are covered in fleas. The breeders usually have just one or two couples they mate. They sell the puppies to people they know will take care of them. I know. I work at a vet office and have seen the difference between the two. It's pretty extreme. It's hard to say which to go to. It would really depend on what kind of animal you want and which breeders/mills are in the area. But I would probably advize going to save one or a few of the ones in the pet mill. In my experience, if they don't get sold, they get put down.
