Question:

What is the difference between security and controls in information systems?

I am studying system vulnerability and abuse in information systems, and am having trouble understanding the difference between security and controls. The definition the book gives of security and controls are:Security: the policies, procedures, and technical measures used to prevent unauthorized access, alteration, theft, or physical damage to info. systems.Controls: methods, policies, and organizational procedures that ensure the safety of organization's assets; accuracy and reliability of its accounting records; and operational adherence to management standardsAny ideas on what the difference between these is? Thanks

If you do this you'll be looking at doing the same again next year and the year after. Much better to get a professional in to replace the felt on the roof. My garage roof has now lasted 10 years without a hint of a leak.
Yes, it can still produce Carbon Dioxide. Carbon Dioxide weighs more than Oxygen and if to much is inhaled, it can suffocate or kill a person easily, It is also odorless and invisible, you will never know it is killing you. And that is the honest truth.
since you have eliminated all possible heat options, the only thing left is to bring them inside the residence and keep them confined to one area/room/box, etc
Well, I suppose you could some of those chemical based heaters. Or what I'd do is make sure it has a good wind break, and maybe stake a blanket on top of it. Why? So the wind can't steal what heat is inside. You could also try heating a bottle of water inside.
