Question:

What is the maximum charge (current) density of oxygen free copper.?

Im running a decent amount of current through a copper bar. I need to find the minimum cross sectional area I need for the current. I cant seem to find the maximum charge density copper can take before melting

Answer:

it depends a lot on the environment. air flow, air temperature, etc. look up the fusing current, it will get you close. .
