Question:

What is the thinnest material to use for my glasses' lenses?

I have a very strong glasses Rx: -8 sphere, -1.25 cylinder. Rather than spend 6-7 times as much money, I bought some glasses from an online retailer (rhymes with penny optimal, you might know who I mean) and used polycarbonate material to try and keep the weight down, but they're still VERY thick. On the edges, they're probably between 1/4 and 1/2 an inch thick, and they hugely warp my facial features through the lenses when I wear them.Lightweight is nice, but most importantly, what material do I use to get the thinnest lenses possible? I'd also like as little coke-bottle light-bending face-distorting weirdness as I can manage. Can any optician types out there enlighten me?
