What is tin plate?

What is tin plate?

Answer:

Tinplate is a tin covered with tin, it is not easy to rust, also known as tin iron. Tinplate was most premature in Bohemia (now Czech and Slovakia). The land has been rich in metal since ancient times, advanced in technology, and know how to use water power in the manufacture of machinery, from fourteenth Century onwards began to produce tinplate. For a long time, it has been the main source of tinplate in the world. Tin was mainly used for making tableware and drinking utensils.
In acid environment, tin protection layer of tinplate is contacted with the outside directly. Because tin is corroded slowly, it can protect the substrate. If the tin protection layer has pinholes, cracks and other defects, it will expose some of the matrix, resulting in corrosion of the matrix.
Tin plate, also called tin plated steel plate, is formed by tin plating on the base material of the sheet steel. Sheet steel substrate with low carbon steel as raw material, its thickness is generally 0.1 ~ 0.4mm.Tin plate according to its tin plating process can be divided into two types, namely hot dipped tinplate and galvanized tinplate.
