What is Toroidal Cores? How does it work?

Answer:

Toroidal cores are magnetic materials (usually ferrite) in the shape of a doughnut (toroid). Wires are wound around the core to form inductors and transformers. Because the core froms a complete magnetic circuit, there is very little fringing (magnetic field outside the core). This provides higher inductance and better coupling in transformers.
