Question:

What is wrong with my car? Blower motor, AC, or both?

Here's the issue - Fan won't work at all unless it is on THE very highest setting. If I turn the heater on (with the fan at the highest setting), the heater works. The AC does not. If it is the blower motor, why does the fan at least work on the highest setting? And if it's the AC, why does the fan not work at any of the lower settings? I'm bewildered. What is wrong with my car? The only thing I do know is I'm roasting...

Answer:

1. blower motor could be bad. 2. rheostat could be bad. ac: does the compressor come on? does it turn off and on every three seconds. then it is low on freon. i think what the other kid was saying is that his father charged the ac system every two years. you may be dealing with two different issues.
ok this happened to my dads car and what he did was he went to his long time friend and he shocked the ac and then it works but it does not work for a long time he has to go get it shocked like every 2 years
Your blower motor resister is Burt out. Goes to defult for safety so you windows wont fog or ice up. All you will get is high. auto tec
you never said the car any where from $40 TO $150 DEPENDING ON THE CAR GIVE WHAT TYPE AND ILL GIVE AN ESTIMATE AND IT IS SHE RESISTOR (REAOSTAT)
i own a repair shop, and what is wrong with the blower motor is the blower motor resistor has gone bad on it ,this is what helps control the speed of the blower motor and also helps keep it from burning up all the time ,it mounts on the out side of the heater box in under the hood, and is real easy to install but that's whats wrong with that part of it,good luck with it hope this helps.
