I'm looking at aniline and the normal type leather sofas. I have a fabric sofa which my cats have used as a scratching post!!! So I want to get cat proof ones and I think leather is supposed to be cat safe...
The type of couch you get won't matter,they'll tear leather to shreds, if puddy is scratching furniture then its discipline that they need. sternly rep remand them vocally when they scratch and get them a scratch post where they can scratch their hearts out. There is also a spray that repels cats, maybe try spraying that where you don't want them scratching and put cat nip where they can scratch. Best of luck

i have heard of scratch resistant leather for people in situations like yours.... or there are lots of products for pets that will correct the problem all together. one even called no scratch.
Firstly, to resolve that. Each time they go to scratch the sofa, hit them with a cushion it wont hurt them but it'll scare them, if they're a housecat get them a scratching post instead and everytime they go to scratch the sofa put them near the scratching post instead. If you have outdoor cats they should just automatically scratch their claws on wooden fences instead.
