Question:

What kind of tires?

I have a 2003 Honda Civic LX Sedan and still have the original tires on it. I was thinking of replacing them but didn‘t realize how many brands and types of tires are out there. Can someone please point me in the right direction on what types of tires I should consider.

Answer:

You need to think about how you drive and the conditions you may find on the road. I think Tiger Paws are the best for most drivers. However if you are performance minded it will take some research on your part to find the best tires for you. The Tire Rack site has the most complete site for comparison. But if you want to buy the tires locally your selections may be very limited. Beware that there a lot of good prices (at first glance) out there on tires from China. I gave them one chance on my car and not again. My Dad (87 and not into speed or cornering like I am) did no better with his. Make sure you know where the tires were made!!!!!!!! The name on the tire is no indication.
Original Equipment Size: 185/70-14 OEM is Good Year Integrity at $ 53/tire or Firestone FR 690 at $ 74/tire My recommendation would be: Bridgestone Turanza EL 400 at $63/tire (touring all season) or Yokohama AVID touring (all season) at $53/tire
