Question:

what material can divert or block a magnetic field?

And where can I buy such material. Also how much do I need to divert (stop) a magnet‘s magnetic field? Thanks!

Answer:

mumetal can do that, and you can buy it online. But it needs to completely enclose the object being protected.
Like some other people said, just replace the whole line. Its actually probably easier. You don't even have to remove the old one. Just run it along side of it.
to no longer motivate any unlawful and doubtlessly deadly movements yet particular, you may decrease maximum brake strains with a known pair of scissors in case you're slicing the rubber strains. There are 2 varieties of strains although, steel and rubber.
Try your local university.
A magnetic field can be carried around something, but you can't block it. You need a block of metal with high permeability, such as a transformer core. Your work piece is placed inside the block and the block is turned sideways to the applied field. You can pick up surplus transformers wherever you find them and remove the windings for your experiments.
