Question:

What material is the best for rail?

What material is the best for rail?

Answer:

The main grades of domestic rails are U74, U71Mn, PD2, PD3 and BNbRE, and the strength levels are 800, 900MPa and 1000MPa.
When the rail is quenched, the strength can reach 1100-1200MPa or 1200-1300MPa. Among them, PD2 is general carbon steel, SQ process full length quenched rail; PD3 is high carbon micro vanadium low alloy rail; BNbRE is low alloy steel rail containing niobium rare earth.
