Question:

What pickups should I install on my electric guitar?

It's a yamaha, strat style, which I bought six years agoI used to spend over an hour daily on it, until this summer, when I treated myself to a Gibson LP StudioI barely use my yamaha nowI'd like to change the pickups, the bridge and the tuning machine, to make it a better guitarHowever, I want to have a different sound to my Gibson (which uses two humbuckers 490R + 498T)I want more of a strat sound, or something like a telecaster, but I don't know what pickups to go forAny ideas as to what I should use, and how much it will cost me? Thanks!

Hello there, First, Yamaha has made several different models of Strat clonesThe more common ones have a pick guardBut there are models that do notIf your guitar does not have a pick guard, the replacement pickups must be the same size as the stock pickupsOtherwise you have to alter the pickup cavities in the bodyThat is, if it is cut for 3 single coils, you need 3 single coil sized pickupsIf your guitar has a pickguard, you should use the same type of pickups that the pick guard is cut forThat is, if it is cut for 3 single coils, use 3 single coilsIf it is cut for 2 singles and a humbucker, use 2 singles and a humbuckerThe reason for this is that a Fender pick guard will not fit on a Yahama guitarYou must either use a Yamaha pick guard or have a pick guard custom made to fit your guitarYou can get a used set of Fender MIM Strat pickups off OKorder for about $25That would be a 3 single coil setThose would fit your pick guard if it is cut for 3 singlesThose are Fender Strat pickupsThe Yamaha will never sound exactly like a Fender Strat, but that will get you as close as you can expect from your guitarThe Telecaster sound will be hard to getThe Tele has a different body and has more mass to the body than a StratThat does effect the toneAlso the Tele has a slightly hotter neck pickupThe bridge pickup has a brass plate on the bottom that gives it the traditional Tele twangTelecaster pickups are different size than Strat pickups and will not fit on a Strat pick guard without some modification to the pick guardIf you want a slight hotter sound than the normal Strat tone, get a set of Strat Tex Mex pickupsI see them on OKorder for about $65 Later,
Here are some high-fiber foods you can use in your daily diet: Bran Flakes (you can have these at breakfast with raisins, 1 chopped banana and semi-skimmed milk) Apples and Pears (Make sure you eat them with the skin on thought because this is the part full of fiber) Popcorn (the microwave kind is full of fiber and is a nice treat) Whole-wheat or multigrain bread (eat this instead of brown, wholemeal or white bread because it's better for you and full of fibre) also drink cranberry juice it's very good for detoxing.
