i started recycling and I noticed that there is A LOT of plastic. So can I only recycle things with the symbol on it or can i recycle all plastic...like the plastic inside a cereal box. that doesnt have a symbol but its plastic. that is just one example.thanks

the symbol must have a 1 or a 2 in order to be 100% recyclable.
The recycle symbol needs to have a 1 or a 2 in the center to be recycled. The other numbers can be recycled at some centers, but they might charge because it costs more to recycle those products.
