Answer:

It depends on the way they were taught. Does your dog spend a lot of time around male dogs? If so, then she may think that the way male dogs do it is the proper way for a dog to. Anyway, it's not a problem. Just as long as it's not in the house.
It's a form of dominance in that your dog wishes to elevate its pee (who pees highest is best - it's a dog thing). Our Dobermann ***** does this (she's 2 1/2) - she only does this in public places like parks where other dogs have been - she rarely, if ever, does this at home in the garden. It may also mean that your dog is confident in this area and is elevating her status in a non-aggressive way.
Frizz ease thermal protection, tresemme heat tamer, matrix iron smoother all work well and won't make hair too goopy. There is no complete protection other than abstaining from heat styling completely, however these products help alot. I especially like the tresemme one as it really seems to soften hair when used with a flat iron. Use sparingly if your hair gets greasy often.
My first Border Collie did this too! I used to joke she was a butch. This girl was rescued as a puppy on the side of the road with the rest of her litter and was raised with 2 other female dogs for the next 16 years of her life. She was spayed at 6 m/o. She used to mount the other dogs while she was a very friendly yet dominant female. She used to mark fire hydrants, trees, rocks and the most memorable moment the was face of the curious male dog who had just tried mounting her then tried sniffing her butt. This is a VERY unique behavior and I think it makes the dog VERY special and is a great talking point. My only theory was this was a dominance marking type behavior similar to males marking a tree. She was just smart and dexterous enough to learn how to pee while lifting her leg.
Take to the vet. Possible UTI (urinary tract infection) animals change peeing behavior when they get this. watch she doesn't pee in the house.
