Question:

What process is used to mine Iron?

What process is used when mining iron? How do they do it.I need detail too please.Thank-you!

Answer:

Iron is found in large deposits like the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Iron ore is mined using explosives to break the rock up and hydraulic equipment to carry it to a smelting plant. Rock is heated to melting temperatures and the iron and other metals sink and the surrounding rock floats and the rock is skimmed off.
