I have a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta 1.8t GLS with Nexen 225/45 ZR17 wheels. The stock rims are nice, but I want to get black racing type rims. I‘m completely clueless when it comes to this stuff and I know just having a 17 inch rim will not necessarily do the trick because there‘s other factors involved. If anyone can help me, thank you in advanced!

Both front wheels share the power, but each has it's own axle, unlike the RWD. This allows one to turn faster or slower than its mate. When you turn, the outer wheel has farther to go.
Front wheel drive is each wheel gets the same amount of power.

17in wheel will fit, yes. But the lug pattern has to be 5x100, otherwise the wheel will not fit on your car.
