Question:

What's the best way to clean laminate flooring?

Are there any products that work well, e.g. cleaners, mops, wet/dry vacuum-mops?

Answer:

I was wondering the answere to the same question not too long ago. I too have laminante flooring and I asked the installers what to clean it with? They reccomended good old windex. It cleans well, leaves no streaks and dries very fast!! you don't want the floors to get too wet or they'll get ruined. There are more expensive cleaners that do the same job, but key word there expensive, they have the same basic ingridents as windex!! I use it about once every 2-3 weeks and my floors never looked better!! I spray a thin layer then mop it up with a wide head terry cloth microfiber removable mop, i got from home depot that cuts the cleaning time in half because of how large it is. try this out and let me know how it works!! Hope this helps, Happy cleaning!!
I use the Swifer WetJet - it is safe for the floor and cleans beautifully!!! It took a bit to dry, but it dries without smearing or streaks. Everything else I've tried leaves streak marks. Also, you can get a $5 off coupon from swifer on their web site. ...otherwise you can follow the advise of the guy who installed my floors...he said just a small amount of dish soap and water, but I found that to leave streaks.
I've used swiffer and orange glow cleaners.. Orange glow can soemtimes have a bit too much oil and leave a little residue. Swiffer works well as a cleaner but can leave streaks if you pump too much fluid.. The most important thing about laminate is not to use too much water or liquid on the floor. Keep cleanser and water at a minimum, otherwise the flooring could warp. Also depends on the quality of laminate you have. Best advice is to see if the Brand you purchased makes a specific cleaner.. I know Bruce brand does.
