Question:

what's the purpose of carbon dioxide used in fire extinguishers ?

sodium bicarbonate and hydrochloric acid are the chemicals that are mixed to make carbon dioxide . Why is it used in fire extinguishers and how does it distinguish the fire ?

Answer:

It could possibly damage the alternator but mostly likely when it dries out it wont hurt anything and the fire extinguisher wont hurt anything its just a powder.
