Question:

What should I knit with this yarn?

I have this tiny little ball of black yarnUnfortunately, I lost the tag a while ago, so I can't say for sure exactly what material it is, or what brand makes it.It looks like very thin wool, but I want to say it's acrylic that's made to look like wool- it's fuzzy, not stretchy, and very thinThe problem is, it's such a small ball, I'm not sure what to make with it! And it's a shame, because it really is a pretty yarn.Does anyone know any small knitting projects I can make with this tiny little bunch of yarn? Thanks!

Answer:

that depends on the type of metal rather than the thicknessI have seen .223 rounds punch through 1/4'' steel like it was nothing but i have a 1/2'' steel swinging target that stops them.
I do know that 55 grain FMJ .223 will go through 3/8 400 grade stainlessOther than that, that's all I got.
Well 3/4 of mild steel would be enough although it would take quite a dentThe issue here is the type of steelI have a couple 3/4 thick AR500 high impact steel platesIt stops everything I ownAlthough with 5.56 it will pit the metal due to the velocity.
Depends on the .223 round, the range at which you are shooting, and the type of metal of the targetA standard 55gr FMJ .223 at 50 yards could go through 1/2 iron plateBut not likely at 200 yardsAn armor piecing round could go through 1/2 steel at 100 yardBut not likely at 1000 yards.
Well, first, if you really want to know what the material is, snip off a piece burn it (outside!)If it creates loose ash, it is a natural fiber, if it creates a hard black nodule, it is man made Secondly, why not make a small critter to watch over you while you are on the computer? I made a small mouse who is, at this time, velcroed to the top of my monitor watching everything I do online! You always have company online this way you get to have that nice, pretty yarn around you all the time.
