Any lightning rods are installed for exactly the same reasons as fire extinguishers are placed inside, and members who work with children are vetted by the Police authority to ensure they are not known as sex offenders - the law of the land requires such things. God does not prevent lightning striking his people, or earthquakes toppling their buildings, because if he did, everyone would be rushing to join the Church for all the wrong reasons. God's not daft, you know.
