Question:

What time period did Stephen Crane write?

What time period would you consider that Stephen Crane wrote in? I have no idea. By time period, I mean like the kind of writing from those times. Ex: Renaissance Period.

Answer:

I beleive that he was active around or just after the Civil War. American Romantic?....I know he had a short life (died young)....
Stephen Crane (November 1, 1871 - June 5, 1900) was an American novelist, poet and journalist. He was born in Newark, New Jersey, the 14th child of a Methodist minister. He died when he was 28. Sorry I don't know what it's called.
Crane was from the late Victorian era, timewise. His prose writing was American realism or naturalism, but his poetry was more modernistic. The Edwardian era began just after his death in 1900. Although his most famous work was The Red Badge of Courage, he was not even born during the Civil War.
