I'd look at them as a fire safety issue, even if they've been tested. Cats and claws (and teeth) do not go well with electrical wires. There are fleece pads at the pet supplies store that almost instantly reflect body heat back to the cat. They're very affordable and are very safe. Test it by laying a hand on it and waiting, you'd be surprised how fast the heat is felt. This would help her out very well, especially as it's a flat pad, not with sides. She can lay in whatever position feels most comfortable. Electric blankets, even at low settings, can get too hot for cats.
Check you manual or go online. You need to make sure the front hubs are locking when you put it 4X. Also, don't put it in 4 X low when driving more than 20 MPH, it will make a high whining noise if you do. Only use 4X high when driving on the street unless you are in very heavy snow and are not driving more than 20 MPH.
