Question:

What type of flooring is better in home with inside pets?

Carpet or hardwood floors?

Answer:

How can you even ask, LOL! Hard floor every time! Carpets are disgusting traps for hair and dirt.
hardwood floors is much better than carpets.the animals' fur and feathers and things like that will stick to the carpet that even a persistent vacuum cleaner can do nothing at all.you have to comb the carpet manually in that case.
It depends on what you consider better. The wood floors will be scratched by the pets nails and the pets will slip and slide all over the place when they walk and run. It will be easier to clean up the pet hair, but it will also be a pain in the long run as it gets all scratched. Carpet is easier on their paws and your feet. More hair can accumulate, but that's why we have vacuums. In our house we have a combination of tile and carpet as our pets are our buddies and we can't keep them out of certain rooms where their nails might ruin the floor, so for total access that's what we did. But our dog does slide on the tile and has had to learn to walk carefully or slip.
Carpeting holds pounds and pounds of dirt hidden in the fibers without you even realizing it. Carpet holds pet odors to the likes of which you never want to find out about. Carpets stain and wear and have to be replaced. You will be unable to rearrange your furniture without seeing the vast difference where the carpet was protected from stains and wear in the former location of the rooms layout. By the time you go through regular cleanings and replacing your carpets, you have spent as much money and so much more maintenance costs than if you got wood floors to begin with. Wood floors can be kept clean by sweeping regularly. If time wears the finish off, you can easily refinish the floors without spending a lot of money. Wood floor add and retain their value in a home. Wood floors do not hold pet odors or smell during rainy days. So, wood floors are a better choice for a home with pets and even homes without them. You can easily warm up the decor if you elect to use an area rug over a wood floor or use a runner in high traffic areas.
No floor is perfect. Here are some pros & cons to help you decide. There are several new carpets that guarantee against permanent pet stains. There are some with odor guard that will prevent pet odors and stains. You still need to vacuum often. Hardwood easy to clean up pet hair. Can be stained and ruined by pet urine. Will not be scratched by normal toe nails If the correct finish is used, Look for aluminum oxide. Tile is a good choice, just be sure to seal the grout. In the wood look, consider a quality laminate. Or consider a new product from Armstrong called Fashion Plank. It's water proof, very hard to scratch. Looks really like wood.
