The Berlin Wall was a wall in the city of Berlin which separated the Soviet East Side from the US/NATO controlled West Side. When the Soviets cut off West Berlin, NATO airlifted supplies to the city in what became known as the Berlin Airlift. The rest of Europe was divided by the Iron Curtain.
