Question:

What would be the BEST arrangment of the Burton metal studs on a snowboard providing the best traction?

The studs I am referring to are the small round aluminum studs that come in a six pack just in case there was any confusion:)

Answer:

I'm pretty sure i have the same ones on my burton bulletI think they are a pretty good traction and also look sick on the boardMine are about 2 1/2 -3 inches in front of where my bindings sitAnd about 3 inches apartThis is a weak diagram but it might help | | | | |-|
Do a little bit of trash digging at furniture/appliance stores or anywhere else they discard styrofoam/packaging and when you get enough sheet of styrofoam use that in the attic for insulationYou cant get any cheaper than thatBut first if available , you might want to ask the store if they care if you take the discarded styrofoamAs some cities have (no scavenging) laws.
Insulation works by having air spaces in the insulationThis is why you do not cram it in placeBlankets would not have air space, so you would be wasting time and moneyThere is a new fiberglass insulation that has a plastic type covering on it to avoid the fibers getting on you.
The rolls of fibreglass nowadays are more user friendly and arnt as irritating compared to say 5-10 years agoThey will also have a fire resistant rating and wont attract the same amount of bugs that the blankets will.
