Question:

What would be the variables in this science fair experiment?

Okay, I am doing a science fair experiment and I need to know what the Independent, dependent variables are and what the control and constant isThe project goes like this I am using 3 different types of homemade modifications to modify a router's antenna to see which modification will make the wireless signal increase the mostThe 3 modifcations are a soda can, a coat hanger and aluminum foilSo mainly I will be dealing with A router, the signal strength, the 3 modifications and thats about it.Can anybody PLEASE help me find what the variables and the constant + control is? PLEASE!Thanks guys!

Answer:

The independent would be the soda can/coat hanger/aluminum foil, seeing as that does not changeThe signal depends on the soda can/coat hanger/aluminum foil, therefore, it is the dependent You always have one variable, because otherwise it would create mixed results (as in, but what caused the change?)Your change is the soda can/coat hanger/aluminum foilYour variable is the modification in the router's antennaConstants: everything that has to stay the same in an experiment, so everything but the variableYou'll have a long list, but for instance: the area that the router is in, the length of the antenna, the same router, etc.
NewspaperUse the funnies:]
That worksThey'll think your recycling the newspapershaha you know- Go GREEN!
Aluminum foil and newspaper would be cool actually :) people would think you are very creativeyou could also just use tissue paper or use blank paper and decorate it yourself, I do that sometimes :)
The funniestin foil will work, it just wrinkles easyTry using a new dish towel, or a pretty pillow caseSomething out of the ordinaryA new T shirt.
