Question:

What would you do if a very strong earthquake happens?

and you're in the middle of the ten-story building?Earthquakes happen anywhere and there's no sign or any warnings been given to us before it occurs. There are some exercises been given to us and I want to know the best option.

Answer:

If it is a hardwired system, it should be on it's own circuit breaker labeled as Smoke detector, or smoke alarm or fire alarm. or possibly alarm system. It should be on a 15 amp or smaller size breaker. Many of the systems were installed after the original installation and may be identified as something else. I suggest you call a qualified professional electrician to do some work on the systems. As an alternative, shut down all of your electronics, and then plug a light into each outlet and turn them on. Then turn off one breaker at a time and try to identify each breaker. The refrigerator and the freezer should be easy to locate as are most of the light circuits. Once you have all of the circuits identified, any remaining breakers should help you locate the fire system.
Most cylinders, the part of the lock you put the key in, operate with springs. Rumor has it gravity helps springs function. Some people will claims teeth up because gravity generally will assist operation. It will also allow for longer spring life and less accumulation of debris resulting in longer life expectency and dependability. Others claim that mounting the cylinder teeth down, commonly refered to as upside down, increases the ability of the lock to resist picking. This position with time allows the springs to weaken and not properly set the pin tumblers resulting in undependable operation and accumulation of debris which clog mechanical operation. Some times it is by default nessecary to mount a lock cylinder in a direction opposed to gravity simply because thats the only way the lock will fit. It's not incorrect to install this way but it is not preferred.
