Guess you shouldn't park in front of a driveway!
Clues are everywhere. Clues are free. First clue--a driveway. It is NOT a parking spot. It is very rude parking in front of one. It creates inconveniences for the owner of the driveway. Second clue--Your car on a forklift. Since a driveway is NOT a parking spot and because you parked in one and created an inconvenience for the owner of the driveway, you are now inconvenienced by having your car on a forklift. What can you make of these clues? Anything come to mind?
Get a police report done if not too late. Ask for reparations for any damage done to vehicle from the owner of the business and the person who was operating the forklift. While you should not have blocked the driveway, no one had the right to pick your car up with a forklift. If the business had tow away signs posted, they should have properly towed your vehicle. If your blocking the driveway was illegal, an officer of the law should have been called. Whoever made the decision to pick your car up on a fork lift was, while being comical, overreacting and breaking the law by damaging your car. I would first ask for restitution from the business owner and if not properly compensated, consult an attorney or take them to small claims court.
