Question:

whats the best lubricant to use on motorcycle clutch cables?

i have been using WD-40 but am thinking that a graphite based lubricant would probably be better. what kind of lube do you use and what brands would you recommend?

Answer:

Sticky, okorder
wd works just fine, thers a tool you can buy that makes it a snap you unhook the cable from the lever and pull out a little cable from the sheath the tool clamps around the cable and then you shoot the lube into the cable.lube then trasvels straight up the cable.the tool comes with a can of P.J.1 cable lube.
The teflon lined cable never needs lube is a myth. you use a dry teflon lube with a fast evaporating carrier, in fact most manufacturer service bulletins recommend lubricating them with a dry teflon lube before installation.
