Question:

whats the correct procedure if you found a piece of faulty electrical equipment?

???

Answer:

DO NOT USE IT If it is not plugged in take it to the Salon Owner or Manager and show them the problem. If it is plugged in then switch off the socket and unplug then take to the Salon Owner/Manager If it is plugged in and you think it is unsafe then DO NOT Touch it Tell everyone in the Salon not to touch it. Switch off the electricity at the main switch to make it safe and then unplug the appliance and again take it to the Salon Owner/Manager. The Salon Owner/Manager is considered by Law as responsible for the health and safety of employees so they should get it repaired by a competent person or scrap it and get a replacement
Both the previous contributors have given good advice. I think they are good enough. You can make lot of noise, but be careful nobody should get annoyed.
Depending on what it is and where it is at, lock it out and tag it out, then notify your boss. If you know nothing about lock outs, notify your boss and Maintenance. Wingman
