Question:

Whats the difference between a cold air intake and a air filter?

I am looking at getting either of these and i have no idea what it is weather an air filter and cold air intake are the same thing or 2 completely different thing i am also wondering if 1 requires somebody else to install it for me? Thank you for your help

Answer:

replacing your cold air intake with an aftermarket will only help to lighten your wallet they do nothing unless your car is built up and now putting out 400-500 hp and you take it to the track every weekend and even then still cant justify the hp gain for the price they may give you 2 hp extra so then you will have 502 hp must add they are the biggest scam cents the pet rock
Dude are you the asshole on youtube the always rides a motorcycle? How about you prove that there is a god. Oh and tell me why science is not true. Also explain who created god. And one more thing, tell me with a straight face that god, in control of everything, send poor, aids riden africans to hell but the majority of stupid shitheads here in america get a god damn free ticket to heaven just because they were born here. **** that, and your god.
If you believed in a loving god you would act like it. So why do you attack atheists to prove there can be no such thing in your life? You disgrace Christianity to it's core with your hatred and bigotry! Do please stop making Christians look so awful! You must be a master recruiter for atheism!
A cold air intake moves the filter housing away from the engine and possibly lower to the ground to keep engine heat away from the incoming air. Many of them are poorly designed but if it is designed correctly, it can help boost engine output as the air entering the intake is cooler/more dense as well as fuel economy (most cold air intakes use less restrictive filters which allows the engine to 'breathe' more easily. As for installation, you did not mention which year, make, and model you have so no one knows how difficult it would be on your vehicle.
