Question:

Whats this flasing airbag light code for my 96 chevy corsica?

While driving, my airbag light flashes this sequence: solid light for about 5 secs then 6 flashes. Sometimes the battery lamp will flicker. Also th ABS lamp comes on and stays solid. Anyone have any idea what that code might be? Is my ABS just toast?

Answer:

I find your version of events highly unlikely. Customers very frequently hear what they want to hear, not what we tell them. This sounds like a classic case.
ABS is Anti-lock brakes, battery light is a sign the system isn't charging the battery. The ABS light will come on if the battery voltage isn't at least 10.5 volts. Your battery and/or alternator is bad. Start the car. remove the negative terminal. Turn on the headlights and A/C fan to high, then rev the engine. It should keep running. if not, alternator is bad. If it does, bad battery. If the battery is more than 4 years old, R2 it anyway. ADDED: You may have a sensor going bad. It is 13 years old. Try having the codes read at Autozone.
Since you did not take the car in for that problem they are not really responsible for that. I would ask them about their policy about customer care. It could be that they may have caused the problem to happen as well. Hoped that helped.
that clicking noise was a bad constant velocity joint (assuming this is a front wheel drive car). any good mechanic should have known what that noise was.as to if it was their fault for not telling you the axle would break i highly doubt it as they are not fortune tellers and cannot see into the future
