Question:

When do you use aluminium foil when cooking?

and why do you use it?

Answer:

It usually depends on the quality of the yarnI can spend upwards of 10 to 20 dollars per skein of yarn on a scarfBut I've also seen yarn as cheap as 1.50 for 300+ yards of yarnI tend to look for quality and feel before pricing, so I sometimes spend more than I should on good yarn.
Usually I spend anywhere from $1 to $5, if it's anymore than that I pass it upUnless of course it's for a special occasion or person, but I don't go over that amount very oftenI usually check the ads in the paper for sales on yarnAlso thrift stores usually have bags of yarn for really cheapIf you have a JoAnne's or Michael's you can get coupons, I usually use my coupons to get 40% to 50% off of a skeinOf course if you don't have those stores you can always check around your local area for great dealsFor a scarf you probably don't need more than 1 or 2 skeins, it depends on how many ounces.
Nancy s must be the lady ahead of me at the thrift shop.haha.I check the plastic bags in the back that have 3 or 4 skeins in them for $2.99 or so, I go through the sweater racks and feel all the sweaters for a good wool.the sweater is $5 or $6 so is a great deal when it is a XXL sweaterI unravel and have made socks and sweaters this way for years, have not purchased yarn in a store (new) maybe once every couple yearsAnd people are always dropping bags of yarn on meOr I will find an afghan or bags of yarn at the dumpster!!! wash it up and unravel itthe last afghan- I just finished making 2 adult sweaters of that and still have a lot of yarn leftdoesn't cost a whole lot if you know where to look.
I use it for any casserole dish I don't want to dry out while it is cookingI use it to prevent some things from browning too fastI use it to prevent the pies from running over in the bottom of the oven.
I usually spend $3.00 for each ballFor a scarf I buy 8 ounces of wool blend or acrylic so that I would have enough and some left overIf I can get it on sale for less, I buy that.
