Question:

When you buy a used car alarm do you need a code?

Im interested in some car alarms on ebay. Do I need a code or anything for any of these?

Answer:

There are SO many parts to a car alarm, I would NOT recommend buying one used. Missing one part and having to order it will probably make up for anything you might save, and you will have the hassle involved. You need the brain, various harnesses, valet switch, programming switch, LED, siren, shock sensor, installation instructions, user instructions, and remote - and those are the basics. Other units might have many other parts too. It's a risky proposition You shouldn't need a code if the remote is original. If not, it will need to be programmed.
it should come with the brain, wiring harness and siren, and also the manual to program the alarm after installationrecommend professional installation and programing.
