I want to make something out of platinum (the same platinum used to make some rings) so to make it into a gift and i dont know if this is even possible.
Without looking at them myself, check for any cracks, bumps, flatspots or if they can still hold air. I would buy new tires to be on the safe side. 2 years is quite a long time for anything exposed to the elements.
I wouldn't attempt that. Platinum is very (VERY) expensive and not a good option to try something out if you don't know exactly what you are doing. I would start with copper sheet metal, then advance to sterling silver etc. You need a lot of practice and the right tools. 2 or 3 years later, you might be able to advance onto precious metal. I don't want to discourage you, but it is a lot more difficult than you might think. Good luck.
