My sofas are really comfortable and they are in good condition. I don't want to spend a lot of money to buy any new ones. They used to be my parents.. so I do not like the pattern or the color. They are reclining sofas. Where can I get a cover for them?? Anybody have any experience doing this? Thanks in advance.
There are no commercial cover made for reclining sofas. You need to either have them completely re-upholstered, or have custom slip covers made. Both will be more expensive than new.
Slip covers would be the least expensive way to go. However having them to custom fit makes the ticket go up. Consult with a reputable upholsterer for a bid on (1 ) Custom slip covers and (2)having the pieces re-upholstered. If you have an idea in mind for a color, texture or pattern of your desired fabric, surf the web for various upholstery fabrics. Often times, you can order a swatch that you can hold feel and share with the upholsterer. Good luck to you. (I did this with an antique Victorian wing-back chair that belonged to my Mother. It was well worth the price)
