I know how it works and why, but I don't know how to try and build one form scratch. If anyone knows how to make one or a link that can provide instructions, it would be greatly appreciated. I searched the net a lot and only found the sites that sell you an e-book or sell you the secret to converting your car into a hybrid. I just need to know how to build the cell.
These things are enormously complex, or everyone would be building them. The company which masters the technique of making them economical will earn untold billions. They've been trying for 25 years, so it must be pretty difficult.
Your car's battery cannot supply the power needed to make 5% of your car's fuel from hydrogen. Will not work. Even if it would, you would have to make the ignition timing later. By the way: A fuel cell would actually turn hydrogen into water. Most people call electrolyzers fuel cells. Maybe you actually did mean fuel cells. Whoops, i gave wrong answer.

If you know why, please enlighten all the scientist and engineers on earth, heck, we may take you reasons to CERN and let those scientist know why you can break the first through third laws of thermodynamics. I apologize if I mistook this post as another of the hundred about the scam. Real fuel cells are extremely complicated and involve the use of things like Platinum, not a cheap material to play with. Exacting tolerances in the Assembly is also a hurtle. You can buy a fuel cell kit from places like Edmund scientific and maybe reverse engineer it. It's a scam, pay you money to see the PT Barnum side show. Do not come running home to momma when you lose your money. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. Those selling the fraud will be punished.
Carl W, hydrogen fuel cells are very complex pieces of machinery, requiring advanced pieces of equipment that can manipulate plastic and metal at an almost microscopic level to create the proton exchange membrane (PEM). You also require a sheet of platinum for every membrane within your cell, a typical cell consisting of a dozen or so membranes. Fuel cells, even when built by professionals, cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. There is no secret, and no cheap way (yet) to do it. Sorry, but for the time being, you're out of luck if you want a hydrogen fuel cell.
