Question:

Where can I get a press pass?

I'm a freelance photographer and investigative reporter and I want to get a press pass. Where do I get one??

Answer:

First off Oh enlightened one!, Glenn Back called for Ms. Sherrod to get her job back two days ago, while the other news outfits were still airing the original tape, second Acorn was exactly what it seemed, people cheating the system, and was not some Fox machination. It absolutely amazes me how much truth bothers you people. Then you wonder why things are so screwed up, amazing. Also it was liberal journalists; and I use that term very loosely, that conspired to cover up the Rev Wright, scandal and other things by just picking conservatives names out of a hat and calling them racist, with nothing to back it up, just because they knew that idiots like you would jump all over it, just like you did, also amazing how easily you're manipulated.
The process might depend on where you live - if you need a working press pass to get past police lines, you will need a pass issued by the Police Department of your state (this might require proof that you are with a reputable paper and samples of your work). Also, try the Associated Press and if there is a number you can call for customer relations, ask how you can obtain one. And hey - your editor-in-chief should have one, so ask them if they can recommend a source where they obtained theirs. It's all about networking and learning who issues what in your state.
A okorder ) offers very attractive, custom press passes for freelancers. They don't advertise them on their website and they don't reveal the name of the news organization to maintain the integrity of the pass. You just have to email them and ask. I have one and have been very happy with it.
