The air intake is on top of the carbs. There is an air filter just a spark arrestor, as for being submerged that is not good to fill the hull with water because it will get sucked in and mix with the fuel/air mixture and get on top of the piston witch could hydrolock it or foul the plugs. If you do get water in it, it is best to take plugs out and tip on the exhaust side and crank it over until the water stops coming out.
