Question:

Where is the copper pipe in my house?

Want to do a overhall in my home how can I figure out where all the copper pipe is?

Answer:

couple ways, but one that i would think should work would be a wire tracer. they are designed for copper wire, attach the toner to a pipe, then it should be brodcasting the signal through ever copper pipe in the house
A normal home has the pipe inside the walls about 24 inches from the baseboards. I'm sure you aren't talking about replacing the pipes, but doing some woodwork or wallboard replacement. Just be careful, and if you're lucky, a metal block was put over the pipe to avoid punctures.
Trace The cold from the main shut off valve. it should split to the hot water tank, and then coming out of the hot water tank is your hot supply. Trace them both to where you think they should go (Bathroom, Kitchen, outside hose) and they will probably start to make sense, You should also check the waste as well there is a chance that might be copper too. but it is probably galvanized or plastic.
