Question:

Where to install tires?

Where do i install tires if i were to buy them offline ? Is that even possible? i found cheap tires on ebay and wanted to buy them and have the store install them . Thanks

Answer:

I use the front brake, exactly as guardrailjim described. If I have to sit there a bit, I'll hold with the rear brake and relax my arms. (Neutral, watching the mirror) At my warning to get ready to move, I swap. I don't usually sit in neutral unless it's a long wait and my back isn't totally exposed. I love having two-finger operable levers.
Foot brake and a little more gas.
You can go to a gas station and have them do it for you or do it yourself, but that is really hard, you need a device to do that and the balancer, it doesn't cost much money for an old fashioned set up but better to have a gas station do it, they might charge $15 or $20 per tire.
Listen up : Buying tires is one transaction. Installing them is another transaction . So, if you buy them online all you need is to pay for the shipping , unless its included and go to your local tire shop for expert installation . I'll bet it will cost you $ 25 -30 each wheel for mounting , balance , and they will probably insist you have an alignment for another $ 75 . Having said that what did you really save by buying online ?
Any local tire shop, most gas stations can mount your tires. But as has been stated , after the shipping charges, and mounting charges (say $100 plus on 4 tires) and no warranty, are you really saving much. Many salvage yards sell used tires too, then you can save on the shipping fees,
