I'll bet you clean the tube and lids next timeIt's going to be difficult to salvage the paint if you have to cut the crimped end of the tubeYou might try an adjustable wrench or pliers adjusted just enough to grip the lidAcrylic paint need to not only be in an air-tight container, but also has no exposure to air in order to remain usableYou know all that anyway.
My art teacher would always attempt to get the lids off and that usually workedIf that didn't work,she would cut off the bottoms and dip her brushes into the paintYou could cover the cut end with a bagDon't put the paint in bags! They will dry out immediately and yes you would have a terrible messMaybe you could put them in airtight containers?
