which cooktop is better, ceramic or coil?
wow, definately ceramic, looks better, so much easier to clean. The coils take so long to heat up too. My new ceramic cooktop takes a couple seconds for the heat element to get all the way hot.
Hi Both are great. Your question seems like a personal one. Coil type have been around a long time and you can use all types of cookware. Although they are considered a bit outdated. Ceramic type stove tops need flat bottoms with no etching on it. Also you must use the proper size pan on the proper size coil or it wont heat right. If you break the ceramic top its very expensive. Last but not least the coil types are about $100.00 cheaper.
Of the two ceramic is definately the better chouce both aesthetically and from a cleanup standpoint. However if budget is Induction cooktops are unbeatable. Works on the basis of magnetic field the cooktop actually only heats the pan. the cooktop never gets hot. You just have to use ferrous metal pans, no stainless.
