Answer:

It happens. the first is called a cryptorchid and the other a monorchid. It is rather expensive to fix but I suggest you do ASAP. Niether will reproduce but they will have to be handled as stallions because all the hormones will be in place. Please don't tell me you got these guys to breed. Happy Trails HorseFeatherZ
I would have him check out by the vet they could be up high or they may not drop at all. My colt was 26 months before he dropped i didn't think he was ever going to. If they are not showing stallion like behavior then i would wait and see. If they are showing this behavior then i would get them to the vet to look at them. They may have to go in to get the testicle. Good luck
Of course it can. Water vapor or steam can be ionized by the Americium-241 in your detector and give enough potential difference to set off the alarm relay. Why exactly are you blowing steam at your smoke detector? - Ahh. I see now. Read the edit. Well, it sounds like the detector is starting to fail. Usually they get less sensitive over time, but yours is an oddball. It's getting more sensitive over time (I assume that this didn't use to be a problem). The sensitivity (the voltage limits) are set at the factory, there isn't anything you can do to change it unless you want to start soldering on the circuit board. Either move the one you have or get a new one with a new factory set sensitivity. On a side note, what you really need is a properly installed bathroom exhaust fan, not a smoke detector.
This is called cryptochidism, unilateral for one testicle, and bilateral for two testicles. It's not normal, although in young horses, they can sometimes take a while to drop their testicles. While a horse has a retained testicle, his reproductive abilities are severely reduced, although it's not impossible for a cryptorchid horse to breed. They will also continue to produce hormones, and so will behave like stallions. If they do not drop their testicles, they can still be gelded, although it is more expensive, as it is invasive surgery.
pack some groceries on them, and dont worry about it for now. sometimes it takes a really long time for them to drop. the vet can also give them a shot that relaxes them and sometimes makes them drop. other wise, its more expensive to get them gelded.
