Question:

Which LCD monitor is better 17Widescreen or 17non widescreen?

I want to use this monitor for playing games, watching movies and viewings photos. so please help me to chose and also tell me that 17 LCD and 17CRT screens are equal in horizontal and vertical sizes or not. thanks!

Answer:

Well, LCD is deffinately the way to go, but wide screen and non widerscreen are different. You can get a non widescreen lcd monitor and a widescreen LCD monitor. The sizes of the LCD and CRT moniters are the same for non widescreen but you can't get a non widescreen CRT monitor. I would get the non widescreen LCD if your gonna go with 17 because widescreens look small unless you get maybe a 19 or 21. Hope this helps
It depends on what you're looking for. Widescreen is better for viewing movies obviously because you can get more image on your screen when the movie is in widescreen format and widescreen DVD seem to be the trend. Actually it is better for the LCD manufacturers to use widescreen format than the regular sized screen because while the vertical measurement of the monitors are the same 17 for widescreen and non widescreen, the non-widescreen monitor covers more area than the widescreen monitor. Side note: Mathematically for a fixed hypotenues length the maximum area can be obtained when the legs of both sides are equal. It means, the more square looking the monitor is, the larger the area for a fixed diagonal length. It really depends on your preference and which one fits your needs better. As for 17 LCD and 17 CRT question. Usually LCD will be bigger. The reason for that is that on CRT, manufacturers use the convention of using the measurement the tube size of the CRT instead of the actual display area of the monitor. You typically lose about inch to a half an inch in the process. That is why you see on the specification of CRT's the figure viewable. Hope I answered your questions.
Well LCD over CRT. except for some graphics creation stuff. 17 inch widescreens in my view seem tiny, if its widescreen it has to be like 20 inch widescreen before it looks a decent size. I prefer widescreens but if it is a 17 inch monitor you want i would say stick with traditional non widescreen.
LCD is FAR AND AWAY BETTER than a CRT. Lately, 19 and 17 are about the same price. I have a Dell 17, 19's are a bit too big for my eyes.
ok, they do no longer have your type anymore. so that they despatched you the equivelant. Or did they? maximum warrantess require the corporate to fulfill or beat all specification on the visual exhibit unit. You paid for a large exhibit and also you should get a widescreen. All specs ought to experience or beat the unique or you're being ripped off. This consists of yet isn't restricted to determination, length, variety, reaction time, evaluation ratio and good factors. i'd call them and paintings with them to locate a widescreen in the route of you spect without going lower than. in the experience that they ought to flow more beneficial at the same time as nevertheless mantaining the specs all you somewhat ought to loose it time. Or in the experience that your time is nicely worth extra shop it yet this isn't honest till they replace it thoroughly
