Sorry, but I have never had much success with anything less than studded tires or chains. If you use chains, then any tire will do. If you use studs, they are hard on the road, so leave them on as little as possible. And while the stores always say 4, I tried it and tried just the font 2, and see no difference. You only need 2, regardless of front wheel drive or read wheel drive. Just put them on the drive wheels. Always use different rims, so you don't have to keep remounting. You do a little damage each time you remount, so don't do it every winter. Salvage rims are $10 each.
